María Asunción Aramburuzabala Larregui (born May 2, 1963)is a Mexican businesswoman. She founded Tresalia Capital as a Family Office of which she has been Chairman and CEO since its foundation in 1996. Maria’s grandfather and father co-founded Grupo Modelo, an industrial conglomerate maker of Corona beer. Under Maria’s leadership, Tresalia grew and diversified the family’s concentrated investments while creating and developing industries where the country was lagging behind. Creating opportunity and jobs has been one of her main goals. Today, Tresalia is a leading Family Office and a global investor with investments and transactional experience throughout Latin America, the U.S. and Europe.
 
Tresalia is structured in three main areas: Asset Management, Private Equity & Venture Capital, and Real Estate. Investments in the financial sector include Banco Santander, Banamex, BBVA and Banco Popular. Investments in the IT sector include: America Movil, Televisa, KIO Networks and RedIT. Seeing the need to create affordable quality education for the lower-income segments of the population in Mexico, she began consolidating universities under the umbrella Aliat Universidades. Other notable investments include Medistik and AeroMexico. Tresalia continues to invest in the core expertise of the family in consumer goods and branded products, either directly or in alliance with other families and industry experts: Anheuser-Busch Inbev, Tory Burch, 3G (Kraft-Heinz), JAB (Panera, Pret, Expresso House, Caribou Coffee, JDE Peets, Keuring Dr. Pepper and NVA). Tresalia continues to push into new industries such as software and technology by investing directly in companies (Cogito and Multiplan) as well as managers (AKKR).
 
In Venture Capital, Tresalia has invested directly in Miroculus, Kavak, Pulsar, Editas, Gaia, Luuna, Rightfoot, Kovi, Minu, Nexu, Cogito, Zubale, Proper Good and Mezcal Amores.
 
ABILIA is Tresalia ́s Real Estate division. It has developed 33 million square foot in the residential, office and commercial areas throughout Mexico. ABILIA also holds 1,000 multifamily units for rent in the USA and is currently developing high-end housing in Europe.
 
Maria has been part of some of the most prestigious Board of Directors of Mexican Companies. She has received several international awards such as: “Premio a la Excelencia Empresarial”, “Woman of Achievement Award”, “Trofeo a la Mujer Montblanc”, “Premio a la Mejor Imagen Empresarial”, “Golden Plate Award”, “Premio al Mérito Profesional”, “Premio a las Trece Líderes Mexicanas, “Mujer del Año”, “Corporations that Make the Difference”, “Leading Women Entrepreneurs of the World”, “Carrera al Universo”, “Medalla Felix Fulgencio Palavicin” and “Mexicano Destacado”.
 
She was the first woman to participate as a Board member on the Mexican Stock Exchange and has also participated on the International Advisory Committee of the NYSE.
